Elvin and Allan’s Despedida at Lutong Bahay ni Aling Cora

despedida at Aling Cora

L-R: Dave, Kim, Elvin, Allan, Maiko, Me, Sarah, JR

Elvin and Allan are among my close friends in church. Aside from belonging to the same age group, they are also nurses like me. They are now emergency medical technicians in Manila who were home for the holidays.

So what do good old friends do when they meet again after a long time of not seeing each other?

As for us, if we’re not road tripping, we’d be food tripping while chit-chatting. It’s a worthwhile and fun-filled gastronomic experience. Besides, it’s the holiday season. It’s the season to be fatter! HAHAHAHA!

With these boys back in town, it meant one thing for us, prepare for a spontaneous Eat-Out, Pig-Out Session! After being cancelled three times, Elvin and Allan finally had their despedida with me, ma’am Sarah, and some of the Boloys (that’s what these boys call themselves) in the new Lutong Bahay ni Aling Cora at J.C. Aquino Avenue, Butuan City last Jan. 8, 2013. This wasn’t what we originally had in mind but it turned out to be better than our plan.

These two EMT’s were so busy meeting-up others on their brief homecoming and we were blessed to fellowship with them before their flight back to Manila and before Butuan was put under a state of calamity due to non-stop rains. Please do pray for us because we’re still experiencing some rain and other places are still flooded.
