9 Ways Tune Hotels Makati Make Your Business Trip Convenient
Happy Valentine’s Day! Need an affordable accommodation for your upcoming business trip in Manila, Philippines? Try booking a room at Tune Hotels Makati when attending a conference at Asian Institute of Management (AIM).
It’s a hotel that won’t make your wallet cry but also not give you scary and regrettable memories. You’ve heard all those horror stories by an expat’s terrible experience when staying in cheap hotels and you certainly don’t want to add up to those horrifying tales, right?
Reserve a room in a hotel with a good reputation. Tune Hotels aims to provide its customers a 5-star sleeping experience at a 1-star pricing.
Here are 9 Great Things Tune Hotels Makati Offer to Business Travelers:
It is one of the cheapest hotels in Makati. It offers affordable room rates with modern amenities. Great service for the price you pay.
Both their Double Room (has 1 queen sized bed) and Twin Room (has 2 single beds) are priced at PHP 1,876.02 (at the time of writing) excluding taxes.
I booked a Twin Room type for my stay because I was sharing it with a female friend. We preferred having our own beds.
Don’t you just love having your own space to sleep on? Lesser awkward moments.
Be prepared though. The room price doesn’t automatically include meals, refreshments, in-room TV access, air-conditioning, WiFi, towel rental, and toiletries. You’re gonna have to purchase these as add-ons.
Clean, Comfortable, and Well-maintained Rooms
Paying the room price provides you with the basic necessities for your sound rest at night. Your room is impeccably clean it shows no sign of previous use. It has a window, a bed/s, a ceiling fan, and an en-suite bathroom with a shower that runs hot or cold water. Be careful when handling the glass door.
I like the huge window that brings in sunlight early in the morning and offers a beautiful overlooking view of this business center.
At the corner, there’s a galvanized steel pipe clothes rail where you can hang your suits or dresses. There are available hangers ready for you to use.
Each bed comes with one pillow in a pillowcase, a bed sheet and a comforter or a duvet cover. It was free from dirt and soft to sleep on.
The huge ceiling fan provides adequate ventilation to the sleeping area but if that’s not enough for you, you can purchase air conditioning credits as an add-on.
By the way, there is no telephone in the rooms. You’ll have to go down yourself to the receptionist for any concerns and requests. This may seem cumbersome but a limitation like this one encourages you to plan and prioritize your actions well. Moving around is also a good form of exercise to keep your blood pumping healthily.
Customize Your Accommodation
You will pay only for the amenities that you need. You can purchase add-ons individually or as a package.
Tailor it to suit your style.
If you don’t like bringing your own towel because it’s too bulky for your luggage, you can rent one and buy toiletries also.
If you like watching shows on a flat screen while resting, you can buy some cable TV credits.
If you don’t have your own mobile data but you want to chat with your friends half way around the world, you can purchase WiFi credits to gain online access.
Note: Only 1 device at a time can connect per account purchased. Your laptop and phone can’t be connected to it at the same time.
If you are techy, prepare a work around on this to turn your laptop into a WiFi hotspot and share your internet connection.
Every room can connect to a WiFi if you purchased it as an add-on and they also don’t block your own mobile data connection.
You wouldn’t worry about going missing in action from your associates due to internet issues. You can still stay connected with your teammates and do some work.
In-room work space: Folding Laptop Table next to bed
Even though the room’s space is limited, Tune Hotels found a way to provide you with a laptop table.
There is a folding table next to your bed which is wide enough to accommodate your laptop and mouse pad. 2 Thumbs up for this Tune Hotel ingenuity.
Modern 24/7 Security
Your room’s key lock is electronic and the hotel is monitored 24 hours by security personnel assisted with CCTV cameras.
There is also a safe inside your room which is large enough to fit your laptop and other belongings. You get to set the lock’s code combination.
It is at the heart of Makati, centrally located in the Makati Commercial and Business District. There’s an abundance of public vehicles passing by. You won’t have a problem getting a ride, whether a jeepney or a taxi. There are also 2 malls within the area, A. Venue and Century City Mall.
My friends and I were attending a conference at AIM. Despite not being within a walking distance, we still chose Tune Hotels Makati because its rate doesn’t break a millennial’s bank account and we were fine with taking one short taxi ride. The time spent commuting is also a good opportunity for sightseeing and reflecting on our lives (mellow music plays in the background).
It is also just one brief jeepney ride away from the MRT Station if you decide to visit Mall of Asia (MOA) or the other cities in Metro Manila.
Be aware that this hotel is near the Red Light District of Makati. You will find expat hubs and bars along Makati Avenue. If you are outgoing and loves to party, you will enjoy the nightlife going on nearby.
But if you are an introvert returning to the hotel late at night, don’t be surprised when you are greeted by intoxicated people walking in the alley. Just smile back and move away fast from them.
Abundant Dining Options Nearby
Food won’t be a problem. There are abundant food options here from instant meals to delicately prepared menus. Aside from breakfast available at the hotel, there’s also a variety of bistros and restaurants in the area. A foodies paradise.
If you like fastfood for breakfast, there are branches of McDonald’s and Jollibee. I’ve also seen a Japanese resto a few blocks away from the hotel if sushi is your thing.
It is a beautiful networking spot. Get ready to bump into local travelling businessmen and even expats. Be cordial to who you meet in the hallway or even in the streets as you explore around Makati Avenue.
Don’t be discouraged by this hotel’s budget pricing at the heart of Makati. Despite sacrificing luxury, it is still a pretty decent place for a transient stay. Safe and comfortable.
What are the other budget hotels you have tried in Makati? How was your experience there?
